It’s time once again for our Deputies to start preparations for our annual “Shootin’-It- Out with the Deputies” golf outing. This year the event will take place at Eagle Hills Golf Course in Papillion. This will be our 10th year for the outing and we are hoping to make it our best year yet.

The funds we raise at this outing provide the bulk of the money we use to support the charitable programs we adopt. Our longest running charity event is our “Shop with a Sheriff” Christmas program, which we have been putting on for over 15 years. This program involves our deputies taking an underprivileged family shopping for winter clothing and holiday gifts at Christmas time. Last year FOP Lodge #2, in association with Wal Mart, was able to provide 35 children and their families a Holiday Season they may not have otherwise had.

Just this year we are happy to announce our involvement with Camp Quality. (www.CampQualityUSA.com). Camp Quality’s motto is “Letting kids with cancer be kids again”. This wonderful organization puts on a summer camp every year for children with cancer and their siblings. Not only will our foundation be helping out with some of the financial support they need, but also members of our FOP Lodge will be on hand at the camp this June to provide activities for the campers and to help out in any way we can.

We need sponsors like you to help make the golf outing a success. Hole sponsorships are $150 which will include a sign at the hole that will identify your business as a sponsor. We are also in need of pin prizes such as gift certificates, or any other merchandise or product that may or may not be specific to your business. Anything at all you can provide will be of great help.

All donations are tax deductible. Checks should be made out to “Douglas County Deputy Sheriff’s Foundation”, which is a 501 (C)(3) non profit organization.
