Osterman is longest serving, active police officer in the state

Grand Island is home to the Nebraska State Fair -- and home to the longest-serving, active police officer in the state.

Sgt. Dennis Osterman will retire from 45 years of service on Friday, Aug. 27 -- the same day the State Fair's inaugural run opens in Grand Island.
