Brothers & Sisters:

I am very pleased to report that LB 328, which includes our retirement study bill, (sections
12-16), passed this morning. It now goes to the Governor for his signature.

Mark Overman
Vice President
Nebraska Fraternal Order of Police

President John Francavilla has announced that the State FOP Board will meet in Kearney on Friday, June 8, 2007.

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Conference center, just off the I-80 Kearney exit. Meeting will start at 7 PM with the Labor Council meeting just prior.

Room arrangements have been made at the Holiday Inn for $79.95 per room, ask for the Fraternal Order of Police rate. State FOP pays board members (trustees) if they travel over 125 miles to the meeting.

President Francavilla will be renting a large van and car pooling across the state starting in Omaha and picking up members along the way. We are also looking to rent a van from the western part of the state and doing the same travel arrangements coming from the west. This is all in attempt to lower travel costs, so please car pool if possible.

If any one has anything for the agenda please contact me or if you are unable to attend.

call if any questions, 402-681-0929

Remember the deadline for the State Magazine is June 1st, please forward your articles and pictures to me by then.

The Grand Lodge FOP confernce will be Aug 12-16, 2007 in Louisville, KY. If any local lodge needs rooms please contact me very soon, rooms fill up fast.

February 14, 2007 - update below

Brothers & Sisters:

I just learned that the Legislature's Retirement Committee has voted 5-0-1 to advance LB 370. This is the bill that provides for compiling the information necessary fo an actuarial study.

Getting this bill passed is one of our primary goals in this session. We have just cleared the first hurdle.

Many thanks to our members that came to the retirement committee hearings on February 5th. It is very important to let our representatives know the importance of this legislation.

Mark Overman, Vice President

Jan. 31, 2007 Update below

Brothers & sisters:

NOW IS THE TIME! Let our state senators know that we
support the two retirement bills that law enforcement
has proposed! Fact sheets are attached. Use them for
your own information, but please do not forward them
to any senators.

The hearing on LB 370 and LB 371 is Monday, Feb 5 at
12:15, room 1525 at the State Capitol. If you can
attend, please do. If you can show up early and talk
to YOUR Senator in person, that is even better.

They need to hear from you-your families, your
friends.

At this page you can E-mail your senator by clicking
on the link below.
