United Way has now included the Nebraska Law Enforcement Officers Memorial
in the list of charities that you can contribute to. Please indicate to
United Way that you want your Contributions to go to the Memorial Project
and they will forward the money to NLEMC.

  Hurricane Relief Notice

The Grand Lodge has been in contact with the Florida State Lodge and in an effort to make sure we keep you apprised, the Florida State Lodge has established a hotline that will be used in the event that Emergency Relief is needed.

The number is 1-800-873-3671 (please do not call unless necessary).

The State Lodge will be very busy so if there are any special needs, we will post the information here.

I have just been informed that 12 members from Florida have lost or have extensively damaged homes. I have discussed the needs with Florida State Lodge President Jim Mann and we have agreed that money is the most important need at this time.

President Mann has a team in place and they will take the funds and get it to the members and will maintain a record of the donations.

I have authorized an emergency allocation of $500.00 per member from the disaster fund which will be sent overnight.

These funds will be placed into the National Disaster Relief Fund and will be distributed in conjunction with the Florida State Lodge.

The Florida State Lodge Disaster Relief Team is on standby and they will notify the Grand Lodge if there is any need for personnel.

SUPPORT THIS BOYCOTT

At a National FOP Conference in Mobile, Alabama, The delegation in attendance voted Unanimously to begin a boycott of persons, products and companies associated with supporting convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. To refresh your memory, this animal was convicted in the 1981 killing of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner. The act was an especially brutal and sadistic murder that still haunts the family, friends and coworkers of Police Officer Falkner.

Convict Abu-Jamal has written a book, ALive from Death Row@ and attempted to place himself in celebrity status as a result of his criminal behavior. Others have supported his pathetic attempt to gain stardom and freedom, all the while spitting in the face of Police Officer Falkner, his family and every single law enforcement officer in the United States.

The FOP has announced the formal boycott of the following:

1. Ben & Jerry=s Ice Cream products, donators to a defense fund for the killer

2. Actor Paul Newman, an outspoken supporter of the killer

3. Actress Susan Sarandon, another supporter of the killer

4. Film makers Spike Lee, Oliver Stone and John Landis , 

supporters of the killer

5. Writers Norman Mailer and Joyce Carol Oates, supporters of the killer

6. Model Naomi Campbell, supporter of the killer

7. Musicians Sting, David Byme and Michael Stipe of REM, all of whom have openly supported the killer

As you may also recall, a tape-recorded statement by the killer to graduates at the commencement ceremony of Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington, June of 1999, resulted in 800 graduates walking out and two dozen others turning their backs during the killers 13 minute diatribe of hate.

Support your FOP. Boycott all of the above and send a clear and firm message that we will not tolerate the murder of police officers ! Send this message to every one that you know!
